St. Luke's has an active A.C.W. of about fourteen members. The mission of the A.C.W. is to foster interest, support and to provide assistance in the promotion of the parish, deanery, and diocesan activities. The aim is to recognize and include the contribution of ALL women who give their time, talents and resources and who are in sympathy with the purpose of the organization.
In addition, the A.C.W. organizes and hosts two teas annually: a Christmas Tea in November and a Spring Tea in May. The group also does catering for funerals, showers, baptisms etc.. The income generated by the group is used to make improvements to the church and parish hall, to purchase items for the church and parish hall , and to support many Christian organizations and individuals locally and abroad. An "adopted" child is also supported through World Vision.
Membership is open to all ladies of the church with an annual membership of $5.00. Meetings are held at 1:30 PM at the church hall on the first Wednesday of the month from September to June. The December meeting usually starts at 10:30 am with Corporate Communion followed by a pot-luck lunch and packing of goodies for shut-ins and various baby needs for the Christmas Cheer Fund. The June meeting is often preceded by lunch at a local restaurant.
The St. Luke's A.C.W. is a caring group who support one another and who are happy to be able to contribute to the ongoing needs of the church.
